We’re back to look at more cannabis cocktails, this time we have our very own cannabis-infused tequila cocktail alongside a whole host of other recipes. In recent years, Tequila has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity, with the common perception of it being a party-slammer drink being swept aside. A trendy set of Tequila enthusiasts and connoisseurs have helped to get Tequila recognized as the top-shelf, sipping liquor it really can be. Increasingly, producers are targeting that exact market and Tequila’s rich, complex flavors are now acknowledged as being up there with the most acclaimed spirits in the world.
More often though, it is the silver, or Plata tequila that is most people’s introduction to this Mexican liquor, either as a shooter or more frequently now, as a cocktail ingredient. Silver, Blanco, or Plata tequila has a fresh, vibrant agave flavor and often a molten heat. It is perfect for use in cocktails, as the bite and character of the liquor shine through in the mix. Because of this spiciness and it’s herbal tones, it is a fantastic spirit to infuse with cannabis, the two herbaceous ingredients complimenting each other perfectly. In fact, move over Tequila and Lime, there’s a new team in town, Tequila, and Weed!
Yes, of course, you could do weed Tequila slammers or shooters, but we feel that to truly appreciate the combination of these magic ingredients, a cocktail is the way to go.
We’ve put together a list of 5 Tequila cocktails that are easy to make and oh, so good. 4 of these cocktails are classics, that perfectly compliment the paring of dope and Tequila, but one is an original creation, made just for you.

What do I Need to Make Cannabis-Infused Tequila Cocktails?
Obviously, you’re going to need some cannabis-infused Tequila. We have covered how to infuse liquor with marijuana in another article, so that is a great place to start. We’d suggest that you infuse either Blanco Tequila or Reposado Tequila, to get the best tasting results. Of course, use whichever Tequila you prefer, but Anejo Tequila can get lost in a cocktail because the barrel aging gives it a smoother, more subtle character. Blanco tends to be kinder on the pocket too!
As an alternative, you may want to add a few drops of a cannabis tincture, and the method to make that can be found here.
Each of our recommended cocktails has a full ingredients list, so read those and prepare what you’ll need.
In addition to the liquid ingredients and garnishes, you’ll need fresh ice to hand, a cocktail shaker, and some glassware. It’s nice to show your cocktail off in the correct, recommended glass, but the truth is it’ll taste good out of a jam jar. Our glassware suggestions are exactly that, use whatever glass you have to hand.
