Hindu Kush, which is Arabic for “Mountains of India,” birthed some of the world's finest Indica strains. Included in this elite group is Afghan and Hindu Kush. Perfected by nature itself, they naturally developed a robust structure and thick, protective coat of resin from the harsh environment from which they were born in. These self-preserving growth tendencies are advantageous for both commercial and home cultivation.
Meanwhile, Pure Indica is a rare hybrid of various unspecified Indica strains. The variant is bred by human hands, but shares plenty of similarities with Afghan and Hindu Kush. Like the landraces, the cannabis contains no trace of Sativa. All three plants also have a sweet earthy fragrance that reminds of the smell of damp cultivated soil. Once consumed, their flowers calm the body while the mind cruises on a sea of euphoria. At the same time, they alleviate health concerns such as depression, stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and, by the end of the session, insomnia.
Choosing among the trifecta of nighttime strains is no longer necessary thanks to Homegrown Cannabis Co. With the Arabian Lights Mixpack, indoor and outdoor gardens can be filled with the feminized version of these Indica plants. The ladies are sturdy and have high resilience against common diseases, pests, and pathogens, allowing the path to harvest to be as simple as it can be.
Growing Arabian Lights Mixpack
The landrace-Indica genetic profile of Hindu Kush and Afghan is advantageous for a couple of reasons. It ensures vigorous growth that can withstand unfavorable environmental conditions, as well as minor gardening mistakes. During the flowering cycle, their thick, stable branches and main stem have no problems carrying even the most massive clusters of buds. Furthermore, harvest is hefty and buds are extremely resinous as long as the floras are provided basic but consistent care in terms of nutrition, leafage grooming, and grow area maintenance. Pure Indica is also as robust and easy to grow; however, it tends to yield less.
When it comes to aesthetic features, the three are almost identical, boasting of a classic Indica beauty that makes them appear fir tree-like from afar. Atop their bushy foliage made up of broad, jagged leaves is a monster-sized apical cola. Growing on the sides are 6 to 8 smaller cluster of buds. As the end of the fruiting cycle draws near, these flowering sites turn frosty white, giving the plants a snow-capped look.
Cultivating the trio indoors does not require plenty of vertical space. However, due to generous branching, they occupy a sizeable lateral space. To maximize small spaces, cater to more plants, as well as boost output, practice the Sea of Green technique. A square meter can accommodate 4 to 9 Arabian Lights floras. Also trim low-lying branches and inessential fan leaves to allow for better air circulation and light penetration. Meanwhile, to turn the Indicas into deep magenta charmers and increase the commercial appeal of the buds, employ a colder than average lights off temperature.
Outdoor cultivation is best done in the Arabian Lights strains' native climate. That said, years of breeding have allowed them to adapt to outdoor environments different from Hindu Kush Mountains. Even so, the setting must be dry and warm, but never hot.
The beautiful Hindu Kush matures up to almost 4 ft. Out of the three, this strain retains the most amount of purple tinges. In an indoor grow area, the plant flowers for 8 weeks and produces 400 to 500 grams of gluey buds per square meter. If grown outdoors, one kush yields 450 to 500 grams, which can be harvested from late September to early October in the northern part of the globe.
Growing at less than 3 ft indoors, Afghan might be tiny but it shares up to 400 grams of large buds per square meter after 8 to 9 weeks of fruiting. In the open, the cannabis reaches up to 6 ft tall and produces 300 to 400 grams each. Be ready to harvest late October to early November in the northern hemisphere.
Barely stretching up to 3 ft in a controlled environment and 5 ft outdoors, Pure Indica is also a space-saver like the rest of the Arabian Lights bunch. Unlike its mixpack mates, however, this cannabis yields a lot less. After fruiting for 8 to 10 weeks indoors, 200 grams of nugs for every square meter awaits. Growing alfresco style produces just as much per plant but can be increased up to 300 grams in favorable conditions. Be prepared for collection by the end of September.
Fragrance and Flavor
The strains of Arabian Lights share the same smell and taste profile. That said, each one has a distinct touch that sets them apart. Their buds ooze with a sweet earthiness that mirrors the smell of moist cultivated soil and a strong, slightly spicy herbal taste that coats the tongue.
Apart from the herby and loam-like essence, Hindu Kush provides the freshness of pine and a hint of woodiness. On the other hand, Afghan contributes a floral fragrance and flavor, while Pure Indica exudes sweet and sour fruitiness.
Excellent for some nighttime or lazy weekend unwinding, the strains of Arabian Lights are incredibly relaxing. A hit or two puts the mind in a state of euphoria. Then, as happy thoughts fill the head, the body will suddenly feel soft, floaty, and extremely lazy. Within a few minutes, a complete couch-lock will takeover.
If Hindu Kush and Afghan are consumed, intense hunger ensues. That being the case, it is best to keep snacks within reach as the entire anatomy will be in a helpless embrace with the couch. Meanwhile, a strong creative push manifests under the influence of Pure Indica. Engaging in artistic endeavors, though, are out of the picture due to the body's inability to move. In case any useful ideas come in, have a note and a pen nearby.
Consider the Arabian Lights a medicine box for nighttime relief. Both Hindu Kush and Afghan are THC-rich, while Pure Indica has above average CBD content. Apart from these cannabinoids, their terpene load also boosts their overall therapeutic efficacy.
Going low and slow with the dosage is a must when consuming these three strains as to limit the side effects to mild cases of dry eyes and mouth. Overindulging or taking the wrong doses could lead to dizziness, headaches, increased anxiety, or even paranoia. Also note that while Pure Indica is beginner-friendly, the landraces are best reserved only to users with high THC tolerance.
Mixed Arabian Lights Pack
The Arabian Lights Mixpack from Homegrown Cannabis Co is made up of the rare Pure Indica, as well as the legendary Afghan and Hindu Kush. When consumed, the flowers calm the body while putting the mind in a state of euphoria. Also a great source of nighttime comfort, they appease various health concerns like depression, stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia.
With these excellent evening strains in one bag, consuming the same strain over and over again is no longer necessary. Even better, these variants are robust, easy to cultivate, and heavy yielders, making them serviceable to both commercial and personal cultivation. Best of all, since the seeds are all feminized, no male can pollinate and ruin what could be a very rewarding harvest.
